All wood and multifuel stoves will need a chimney. If you don’t have a traditional chimney in your property you can install a stainless-steel chimney. This is often called twin wall chimney or flue, and can be installed with a clearance of 50mm to combustible materials. Twin wall chimneys have a layer of insulation around the internal flue pipe to keep the gases (that come from burning) warmer. Warm air that comes from the fire is lighter than cold air. You need the air to stay warm in the chimney to create upward air movement which results in oxygen being pulled into the stove and allowing the fire to burn.
